Privacy Policy
1. Privacy at a Glance
General Information
This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit littletagger.com, use the Little Tagger Mac app, or contact us for support.
Little Tagger processes your files and Finder tags locally on your Mac. It does not automatically upload your workspace files, file contents, filenames, or tags to us. Separate processing may occur when you use Apple services, third-party integrations, or optional support, as explained below.
Free File Renamer
The free file renamer processes selected files and filename rules locally in your browser. The tool does not upload file contents or filenames, or save your files or rules in browser storage. ZIP downloads contain renamed copies; the tool does not modify the original files. Normal website requests, such as loading the page and fonts, are covered by the website sections of this policy.
Data Collection on This Website
Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find the operator's contact details in the "Notice Regarding the Responsible Party" section of this privacy policy.
How do we collect your data?
Your data is collected in part by you providing it to us. This may include data you enter into a contact form, for example.
Other data is collected automatically or with your consent when you visit the website through our IT systems. This is primarily technical data (e.g., internet browser, operating system, or time of page access). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.
What do we use your data for?
Some of the data is collected to ensure the error-free provision of the website. Other data may be used to analyse your user behaviour. If contracts can be concluded or initiated via the website, the transmitted data will also be processed for contract offers, orders, or other enquiries.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipients, and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the correction or deletion of this data. If you have given consent to data processing, you can revoke this consent at any time for the future. You also have the right, under certain circumstances, to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
You can contact us at any time regarding this and other questions on the subject of data protection.
2. Hosting
We host the contents of our website with the following provider:
External Hosting
This website is hosted externally. The personal data collected on this website is stored on the servers of the host(s). This may include IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, contract data, contact details, names, website access logs, and other data generated through a website.
External hosting is carried out for the purpose of fulfilling contracts with our potential and existing customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in the interest of a secure, fast, and efficient provision of our online services by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If consent has been obtained, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG, insofar as the consent covers the storage of cookies or access to information on the user's device (e.g., device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.
Our host(s) will only process your data to the extent necessary to fulfil their performance obligations and will follow our instructions with regard to this data.
We use the following host(s):
Lovable Labs Sweden AB, Tunnelgatan 5, 11137 Stockholm, Sweden
Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that the provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
3. General Information and Mandatory Disclosures
Data Protection
Fox+Rabbit Innovation Design GmbH takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
Personal data may be processed when you visit our website, use the Little Tagger Mac app, or contact us for support. This privacy policy explains what information is processed, for what purposes, and whether it remains on your device or is received by us or another service provider.
We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g., when communicating by email) may have security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Notice Regarding the Responsible Party
The responsible party for the processing of personal data described in this privacy policy in connection with our website, the Little Tagger Mac app, and our support services is:
Fox+Rabbit Innovation Design GmbH
Friedhofstr. 8
69518 Abtsteinach
Phone: +49 (0) 159 01855017
Email: impressum@foxandrabbit.org
The responsible party is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (e.g., names, email addresses, etc.).
Storage Duration
Unless a more specific storage period has been stated within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate request for deletion or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g., tax or commercial law retention periods); in the latter case, deletion will take place after these reasons cease to apply.
This general retention provision concerns personal data held by us or by service providers acting on our behalf. Information stored locally by the Little Tagger Mac app is addressed separately under "Data Processing in the Little Tagger Mac App".
General Information on the Legal Basis for Data Processing
If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR, if special categories of data pursuant to Art. 9(1) GDPR are processed. In the case of explicit consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing is also carried out on the basis of Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or to access to information on your device (e.g., via device fingerprinting), data processing is additionally carried out on the basis of § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time. If your data is required for the performance of a contract or for pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data if it is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. Data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The relevant legal bases in each individual case are explained in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.
Recipients of Personal Data
In the course of our business activities, we work with various external parties. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external parties. We only pass on personal data to external parties if this is necessary for the fulfilment of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g., passing on data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in the transfer, or if another legal basis permits the data transfer. When using data processors, we only pass on personal data of our customers on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. The legality of data processing carried out before the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Right to Object to Data Collection in Special Cases and to Direct Marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
IF DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR REASONS ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR AFFECTED PERSONAL DATA UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING THAT OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES TO ASSERT, EXERCISE OR DEFEND LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority
In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work, or the place of the alleged violation. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.
Information, Correction and Deletion
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to obtain free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of data processing, and, if applicable, a right to have this data corrected or deleted. You can contact us at any time regarding this and other questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we generally need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data has been/is being carried out unlawfully, you may request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it for the exercise, defence, or assertion of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data instead of deletion.
- If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may — apart from being stored — only be processed with your consent or for the assertion, exercise, or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.
SSL/TLS Encryption
This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
When SSL/TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
4. Data Collection on This Website
Server Log Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website — for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.
Enquiries by Email, Phone, or Fax
If you contact us by email, phone, or fax, your enquiry including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data to third parties without your consent, except to service providers who process it on our behalf to help us handle enquiries (see "Optional In-App Support through Crisp" below).
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the fulfilment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be revoked at any time.
The data sent to us via contact enquiries remains with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been fully processed). Mandatory legal provisions — in particular statutory retention periods — remain unaffected.
5. Data Processing in the Little Tagger Mac App
Files, Folders, and Finder Tags
Little Tagger accesses files and folders that you make available to it through macOS permissions, file selection, drag and drop, or supported automation. Depending on the features you use, it processes filenames, file paths, file types, sizes, dates, existing Finder tags, and supported file contents.
This information is used to display, filter, analyse, and tag your files. Tagging operations modify Finder tag metadata on the original files. Ordinary file processing does not upload this information to servers operated by us.
If your files are stored in a cloud-synchronised folder, on a network volume, or with another storage provider, that provider may transfer or synchronise files and their metadata according to its own settings and privacy policy.
Local Settings and Saved Configurations
Little Tagger stores app settings, tag collections, recently used tags, presets, workflows, and references to authorised files and folders locally on your Mac. Saved access references allow the app to access locations you have previously authorised.
These records support the app's functionality and are not automatically sent to us. Little Tagger does not require a separate Little Tagger user account.
On-Device AI Features
When you use AI-assisted features, Little Tagger may analyse filenames, metadata, supported document text, recognised text in images, and image content to generate suggestions. These features use supported Apple models on your device. Little Tagger does not upload this material to our servers or an external AI service for these features.
This description concerns Little Tagger's own AI features. Apple's handling of Siri requests is described separately below.
Spotlight, Shortcuts, Siri, and Other Integrations
When enabled, Little Tagger makes information about saved presets and workflows available to macOS Spotlight and supported system integrations. This can include their names, identifiers, and category information. Shortcuts can also access available tag names and colours to let you configure actions.
Files supplied through a shortcut are processed according to its configured actions. Other apps or services used in that shortcut may receive information that you choose to pass to them.
Siri and other Apple services operate under Apple's privacy policies and your system settings. Siri requests may involve processing by Apple; Little Tagger's on-device AI description does not mean that every Siri interaction is processed locally. See Siri, Dictation & Privacy.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Purchases, subscriptions, and payment processing are handled through Apple's App Store. Little Tagger uses purchase and subscription information supplied by Apple to verify access, restore purchases, and display subscription status. Relevant access information is stored locally.
We do not receive your payment-card details through these purchases. Apple may provide us with purchase, refund, subscription, and sales reports, including subscription identifiers. Apple processes this information under its own privacy policy. See App Store & Privacy.
Diagnostics
Little Tagger and macOS may generate diagnostic information when errors occur. The support chat does not automatically receive these logs. You may choose to provide diagnostic information when requesting assistance.
Depending on your macOS privacy settings, Apple may collect crash and usage information and share relevant reports with app developers. You can manage this sharing in System Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. See Apple's Mac analytics information.
Storage and Deletion
Locally stored app data remains on your Mac until it is removed or replaced. Removing a file from Little Tagger's workspace does not delete the original file or remove tags already written to it. Uninstalling the app does not undo changes to Finder tags and may leave local preferences or support files.
Copies may also remain in backups or synchronised storage according to your settings. We cannot remotely access or delete information that exists only on your device. Information you send to us through support is subject to the separate support-retention provisions below.
6. Optional In-App Support through Crisp
When the Support Chat Is Used
Little Tagger offers an optional Contact Support chat, available from the app's Help menu and from the subscription screen. Using it is entirely optional. The app connects to Crisp only when you open Contact Support; simply launching Little Tagger does not load the chat.
Provider and Responsibility
The support chat is provided by Crisp IM SAS, 2 Boulevard de Launay, 44100 Nantes, France. Fox+Rabbit Innovation Design GmbH remains responsible for handling Little Tagger support enquiries. Crisp processes support data on our behalf on the basis of a data processing agreement required by data protection law (Art. 28 GDPR).
What Data Is Processed
When you use the support chat, the following data may be processed:
- Messages you write and attachments you deliberately submit
- Contact details you choose to provide, such as your name or email address
- Technical and session information needed to operate and secure the service, including session identifiers, IP addresses, browser/device information, and connection and activity timestamps
Technical and session information can be processed as soon as the chat window opens, even before you send a message.
The app does not automatically supply your identity, purchase details, workspace files, filenames, tags, file paths, or logs to the support chat. Ordinary file tagging in Little Tagger happens locally on your Mac and is not uploaded. You can voluntarily include information or files in a support request if you wish.
Purposes
We process support data to answer your enquiries, provide follow-up you request, and operate and protect the support service.
Follow-Up and Email Support
If you would like a follow-up after closing the chat window, you can provide an email address in the chat. Email support is also available at support@littletagger.com.
Temporary Local Chat Storage
The app uses temporary local chat storage. Closing the support window ends the local chat session and discards its local storage. It does not delete messages, attachments, contact details, or technical records already received by our support team or Crisp. Reopening the window starts a fresh local session.
Retention and Deletion
We delete chat conversations and all data associated with them after 30 days. This includes records held by our support team and by Crisp.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Crisp uses session cookies or similar storage for chat functionality. In the app's embedded chat, this storage is nonpersistent and lasts only for the session of the support window. This website does not currently include a Crisp chat widget.
Recipients and International Transfers
Recipients of support data are Crisp and the subprocessors Crisp uses to provide the service. Crisp documents that some connections may be handled by infrastructure located outside the European Union. Further information is available in Crisp's privacy policy and Crisp's chatbox cookie documentation.
Your Rights Regarding Support Data
You can contact support@littletagger.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your support data. Your general data protection rights described in section 3 of this privacy policy also apply.
7. Plugins and Tools
Google Fonts
This site uses so-called Google Fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. When you access a page, your browser loads the required fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.
For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Google's servers. This gives Google knowledge that this website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Fonts is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the uniform presentation of the typeface on its website.
If your browser does not support Google Fonts, a default font from your computer will be used.
Further information about Google Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
8. Google Ads Conversion Tracking and Cookie Consent
This website uses Google Ads conversion tracking, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). It lets us measure whether people who clicked one of our Google ads afterwards click a "Download on the Mac App Store" button on this website. We do not learn who you are; we only see aggregated statistics in Google Ads.
What is processed
When the Google tag is active, your browser connects to Google's servers and Google processes your IP address, browser and device information, the page visited, the referring ad click (click ID), the time of the visit and clicks on App Store download buttons. Google sets or reads cookies on your device (for example "_gcl_aw" and "_gcl_au") to recognise that you arrived via an ad. We do not send names, email addresses or other customer data to Google, and we do not use this data for remarketing.
Legal basis and consent
For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Canada, and whenever your location cannot be determined, the Google tag is not loaded and no Google Ads cookies are set until you click "Accept" in our cookie banner. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. "Reject" is as easy as "Accept", and the website works fully either way. To decide whether the banner is needed, your browser asks our hosting provider for your country; only the country code is used and it is not stored.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. When you reject, existing Google Ads cookies set by this website are deleted. Your choice, the time of the choice and the version of the notice are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so we can respect and document it; this record is not sent to us. For visitors from other regions, conversion tracking is based on our legitimate interest in measuring the effectiveness of our advertising (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); you can object at any time via "Cookie settings".
Storage period and transfers
Google Ads conversion cookies generally expire after 90 days. Google may process data in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
More information: how Google uses data from advertising partners, Google's privacy policy and Google's advertising information. You can also manage personalised advertising in your Google ad settings.
