Access Little Tagger after a previous one-time purchase
Use an eligible earlier paid-app purchase with the subscription-era version of Little Tagger.

Quick answer
Little Tagger recognizes eligible App Store purchases from before version 2.0 as a separate access entitlement. Once that earlier purchase is verified, you do not need a new subscription for the current app access. Use the original purchasing Apple Account and Restore Purchase if a plan screen appears unexpectedly.
How earlier purchase access is recognized
The app checks Apple's verified original app-purchase information. A qualifying purchase from a version before the 2.0 subscription transition can provide access without creating a monthly or yearly subscription.
The important record is the original App Store purchase, not the date you last installed the app or the presence of old presets on the Mac. An earlier installation or a migrated data file alone does not establish a purchase entitlement.
Restore the earlier purchase
- Check that the App Store is using the Apple Account that originally bought Little Tagger.
- Connect to the internet and open the current app.
- Allow purchase verification to finish.
- If Choose Your Plan still appears, click Restore Purchase below the plan cards.
- After access is recognized, complete any remaining setup and check that the workspace opens.
For detailed restoration steps and offline messages, see Restore purchases and resolve access issues.
A previously paid app purchase does not need to be listed as an active subscription. Check the original purchase record when investigating it rather than assuming that an empty subscription list means you never bought the app.
Keep purchase access and migration separate
Purchase restoration handles licensing. Migration handles compatible tags, presets, and saved locations from the earlier installation. One can succeed while the other needs attention.
If access works but old presets or locations are missing, use Update from an earlier version. If your data is present but the app asks for a plan, resolve purchase access instead. Do not delete the existing app data to force a new purchase check.
You also started a subscription
Recognizing earlier purchase access is not a cancellation request for a separate subscription already active in your Apple Account. Confirm that earlier access is working, then manage any unwanted subscription through Change or cancel a subscription.
For an existing charge you believe should be refunded, follow Apple's refund process linked there. Access restoration itself neither issues a refund nor guarantees refund eligibility.
When the earlier purchase cannot be verified
Do not subscribe again solely to get past an unexpected verification failure. Contact support with the app and macOS versions, the message shown, and the outcome of Restore Purchase. Explain that this concerns the earlier one-time paid app rather than a subscription trial.
Keep the original receipt available, but share only a redacted copy when requested. No Apple Account password or verification code is needed in a support message.
